Baby Found Safe After Being Abducted By Car Thief In Dolton

A missing 8-month-old boy has been located after Illinois State Police issued an Amber Alert when he was abducted from south suburban Dolton.

- Tonight, this baby is back safe with his family after being abducted by a car thief in the South suburbs triggering an AMBER Alert. Dalton police say the baby's father left the eight-month-old in a running car while dad went inside a restaurant to grab some food. That's when a man slipped into the car and took off with the boy in the backseat. Police tracked down the baby in the car about 15 minutes later.

CHIEF ERNEST MOBLEY: He seems to be unharmed. He was taken to a local area hospital for further checkup, and the family is there with the child.

- The stolen child and car were found in nearby Calumet City. Police are hoping someone in the neighborhood might have surveillance video of the thief. He's still on the loose.
