‘Baby K’ accepts plea deal in trial for attempted murder on Prince George’s County school bus

PRINCE GEORGE’S COUNTY, Md. (DC News Now) — A teenager accused of attempted murder on a school bus in May of 2023 accepted a plea deal on Thursday.

16-year-old Kaden Holland — also known as “Baby K” — appeared in court a week after a judge ruled that he should stand trial as an adult. His trial had initially been scheduled for March 18.

As part of the deal, the state recommended that he serve 60 years suspended all but 25 years.

His official sentencing will be scheduled for some time in May.

According to the Prince George’s County Police Department (PGPD), Holland and two other teenagers ran onto a school bus and started to attack a student.

PGPD said that Holland tried to shoot the victim three times, but the gun jammed.

Three other teens were also arrested and indicted in the incident, including a girl who was charged with planning the attack.

Prosecutors said that Holland was on the run for almost a month after the incident before he was arrested.
