Baby Rhino Cuddles With Volunteer at South African Animal Sanctuary

A young rhino enjoyed some cuddles at a South African rehabilitation center for animals, nodding off as she was gently caressed in the arms of a volunteer.

Footage by Gosia Zdziechowska, shared to her Polish Dr Dolittle YouTube channel, shows the young rhino named Ntandane, which is Zulu for orphan, in a relaxed state alongside her.

“She was found alone, rubbing up against a vehicle with mom nowhere in sight,” Zdziechowska told Storyful. “She was very tiny and battled with a few health concerns,” she added.

The orphaned rhino has since undergone a number of surgeries to correct a bladder defect. However, Zdziechowska’s YouTube caption stated that thanks to the success of the surgery, Ntandane will be “on a special milk powder diet” to combat the issue. Credit: Polish Dr Dolittle via Storyful
