Rachel Lindsay and her husband Bryan Abasolo were among the thousands of people who peacefully protested police brutality and the murder of George Floyd over the weekend. The former Bachelorette opened up about her experience during her Higher Learning podcast (via Us Weekly) telling her co-host Van Lathan that “It was beautiful to see so many people in unity marching and protesting for what they believed in and the injustices they’re facing in this country.”

Rachel attended a protest in Miami, and said that she was alarmed to see how many people seemed "completely unbothered" outside of the event.

“It’s just another day to pull out the yachts," Rachel said. "It’s just another day for you to have drinks with your friends. It hit me so hard. It’s just such a harsh reality that what we deal with, and what other people don’t have to deal with, because it doesn’t directly affect them.”

Rachel also spoke about reaching "an audience that I never really would have had that opportunity to before,” and has written a blog post about tangible steps everyone can take to help fight ongoing systemic racism in this country.
