'The Bachelorette's' Connor B. Just Defended Greg Amid Katie Breakup

• The Bachelorette Katie Thurston faced a shocking self-elimination when Greg Grippo left the set during hometowns week.

• The former frontrunner and Katie had a long tear-filled fight that ended in a breakup and lots of reactions from fans and contestants.

• Connor B. spoke out on Twitter defending Greg on "gaslighting" accusations, while others shared support for Katie.

Bachelorette fans were shocked during hometowns week when Katie Thurston and her clear favorite Greg Grippo broke up. He told her he loved her and she said she loved...looking at him. The two ended up having a massive fight that quickly went downhill, with Greg eventually quitting the show.

Katie weighed in on the whole thing on Instagram. Katie shared a post on her Instagram Stories from @soyouwanttotalkabout called, "So You Want to Talk About Gaslighting." Slides after that break down what gaslighting is—"a form of emotional abuse and psychological manipulation involving distorting the truth in order to confuse or instill doubt in another person to the point [where] they question their own sanity or reality."

Katie didn’t name Greg anywhere, but it was pretty clear what she meant. As for Bachelorette fans, they are divided on what the argument says about Greg. And, so are former contestants.

Connor Brennan, who already went home on the show, shared this on Twitter: “Relationships are nuanced. breakups are nuanced. sometimes there’s not a good guy or a bad guy. sometimes cameras and tweets can’t accurately capture the complexity of real life. Kindness is free, love is complicated #TheBacheloretteABC"

Connor also added: "there was no gaslighting in this episode."

John Hersey, who was eliminated during week two, said on his Instagram Story that he was “shocked by some of the behavior I witnessed, named the words and body language exhibited by Greg. Watching these actions get defended (and therefore normalized strikes me as extremely unhealthy and a step in the wrong direction. It should be noted that an individual can be a good friend to some while simultaneously being harmful to others in another relationship; friendship cannot be an excuse to blindly defend someone’s behavior."

Former contestant Tre Cooper came with support for Greg and Katie, writing on Twitter,“Greg/Justin/Blake slander won’t be tolerated on my TL 🤷🏾♂️," before adding, “Katie slander OBVIOUSLY won’t be tolerated either 🤦🏾♂️."

ICYMI: Greg went to Katie’s room the next day after the hometown date and said, "You didn't even acknowledge what I said to you. You completely mowed over it." He also said that there was “obviously a disconnect here. … As much as it hurts me, I've reached my breaking point with this. I gave you everything and I really hope you find something." Katie tried to convince Greg to stay, but he refused.

Greg hasn’t posted on Instagram for two weeks, and he hasn't publicly commented on the breakup.
