The trilogy then continues Jan. 3 and Jan. 10 with the 2003 release “The Lord of the Rings: Return of the King — Extended Cut.”

Cinemark is also running all three movies back-to-back Jan. 6 and Jan. 7 with a 12-hour marathon. There will be intermissions between films to give viewers the opportunity to visit concessions and stretch their legs.

All showings, minus the trilogy, will begin at 6 p.m. The trilogy showing will begin at 10 a.m.

“Cinemark’s film and content team have great relationships with our studio partners and are always working together to bring compelling content to our theaters that complements the newest films coming out of Hollywood,” said Caitlin Piper, an official with Public Relations & Corporate Communications at Cinemark. “Our Rings in the New Year program is just another example of this. We’ve brought back Harry Potter films, classic horror movies, holiday favorites and more.”

Fans who are brave enough to take in all three movies consecutively in one day can purchase their precious tickets on Cinemark’s website or at the theater.

Fans also have a chance to meet the hobbits in Cleveland April 12-14 at the Fan Expo in Cleveland.
