Back to school looks hot, mainly dry; weekend storms to increase

It’s a warm, humid, but dry for the first day of school. We’ll be sunny throughout most of the day with temperatures into the mid-90s. Feels-like temps will be 100+.
Action News Jax Meteorologist Alyssa Pejic says storms are most likely to develop inland today. By Thursday, showers and storms may push all the way to the beaches before a week-end pattern change.

Temperatures on Friday will be in the low 90s with scattered storms, mainly in the afternoon.
This weekend will feature showers and storms as a “cold” front is slowly moving through our area. Highs will be knocked down to the upper 80s.
TROPICS: A tropical wave well off the coast of West Africa has some potential to develop later this week into a tropical depression. However, later this week conditions become less conducive for further strengthening in the Central Atlantic.
