Backdoor Theatre is presenting "The Cover of Life" by R.T. Robinson beginning May 6 and will run through May 21.

"The Cover of Life" shows begin at 7:30 p.m. on Backdoor Theatre's Main Stage.

"The Cover of Life" is a southern comedic drama that shares the story of Tood, Weetsie, and Sybil, three brides in rural Louisiana in 1943, each married to a Cliffert brother.

Kate has been covering the war in Europe and, though she views doing a "women's piece" as a career setback, she accepts because it will be her first cover story. She spends a week with the Cliffert women, and her haughty urban attitude gives way to sympathy as she begins to understand them while coming face-to-face with her powerlessness in a man's world.

Filled with charm and grit, "The Cover of Life" is not a show to be missed!

Backdoor Theatre will offer talkbacks with guest military spouses Tiffany Baker, Lainie Norman, and Maureen Talbott, immediately after the performances on May 7, 12, 14, 19, and 20.

Backdoor Theatre will also have a World War II display in the Main Stage Lobby to honor Military Appreciation Month. These items are from local community members honoring their loved ones who served during that time by sharing photos, stories, and memorabilia from that time.

This production stars Elizabeth Adams as Tood, Londi Reid as Weetsie, Brandi Perkins as Sybil, Meg Nester as Kate Miller, Tabitha Cahanin as Aunt Ola, Shanna Smith as Addie Mae, and Zachary J. Binx as Tommy.

This production is directed by Carter Wallace.
