TCC and Wireless Zone, both Verizon retailers, are teaming up to provide free backpacks to children across the country on Sunday, July 30, including many in Michigan.
There are 1,162 locations participating in the giveaway on Sunday, with 120,000 backpacks across the nation.
The 11th Annual School Rocks Backpack Giveaway will commence at 1 p.m. in Michigan at 32 locations. The backpacks are filled with supplies for the upcoming school year, including pencils, paper, a pencil box, folders, a ruler and glue.
“The School Rocks Backpack Giveaway is our company’s cornerstone annual event, and I couldn’t be more thankful for our store locations, employees and customers for helping us continue to do good in the thousands of communities we operate in,” said Scott Moorehead, CEO of Round Room, parent company of TCC and Wireless Zone.
“The start of the school year is an exciting time for many, and we look forward each and every year to make school supplies more accessible for students so they can thrive in the classroom.”
