BATTLE CREEK — Downtown Battle Creek will transform into a backyard bash of live music, yard games and more than 40 food vendors Saturday with the return of the annual end-of-summer festival Backyard Burgers and Brews.

The Battle Creek Area Chamber of Commerce is hosting the eighth annual bash from 6 to 11 p.m. Saturday at Festival Market Square. Free parking will be available in the Hamblin and Michigan Avenue ramps, the State Street lot, Willard Library and the surrounding parking lots.

“We are excited to be hosting one of downtown’s most exciting end of summer celebrations bringing together the community and businesses,” Chamber President/CEO Kara Beer said in a release. “With this year’s Backyard Burgers & Brews we are promoting a fantastic social district and have expanded the area and doubled the number of food trucks/tents from last year. Also, we will be including the State Street Commons Social District again, allowing for more downtown businesses to participate and more attendees.

"Last year, we had record number attendance and so we enhanced the festival area with a freshened up layout to better accommodate.”
