Bad Bunny will have ‘a huge career’ as an actor, ‘Bullet Train’ director David Leitch says

It’s good to be Bad Bunny.

“Bullet Train” director David Leitch was impressed by the Latin music superstar’s performance as a mercenary of few words known as the Wolf in his new action-comedy, and believes Bad Bunny has a bright future in movies.

“I think he’s gonna have a huge career as an actor,” Leitch told the Daily News. “Obviously, he’s an incredible talent and he’s a true artist. He can bring his emotions to the surface quickly, like he does in his music, and it was a great choice for the nonverbal storytelling I wanted to do with the Wolf.”

Coming to theaters Friday, “Bullet Train” marks the feature film debut of the Puerto Rican-born Bad Bunny, a two-time Grammy winner and Spotify’s most-streamed artist the past two years.

Bad Bunny, whose real name is Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio, is also set to star as the title superhero in “El Muerto,” which will be the first live-action Marvel movie led by a Latino character.

That film, due out January 2024, will be released by Sony, the same studio behind “Bullet Train.”

The 28-year-old reggaeton rapper’s character in “Bullet Train” is one of the assassins aboard a zooming Japanese locomotive who confronts Brad Pitt’s Ladybug as he tries to recover a briefcase.

The movie features a whirlwind sequence depicting the Wolf’s backstory.

“Acting without words is hard,” Leitch said of Bad Bunny. “It’s the subtleties that you need, but I think it comes from him innately.”
