Bad Bunny to perform live from Yankee Stadium for 2022 MTV Video Music Awards

It’s good news for Bad Bunny fans.
Sunday’s MTV Video Music Awards in Newark will feature a live remote performance by the reggaeton rapper from Yankee Stadium, where he’s performing back-to-back concerts this weekend for his “World’s Hottest Tour.”
The performance will be designed specifically for the VMAs, organizers said Wednesday.
The announcement adds excitement to the Puerto Rican-born Bad Bunny’s already highly anticipated stops in the Bronx, where his Saturday and Sunday night shows start at more than $300 apiece on the resale market.
Bad Bunny, whose real name is Benito Ocasio, is nominated for four honors at the 2022 VMAs, including artist of the year. A win in the category would make the 28-year-old the first non-English-language artist to win that award.
Bad Bunny previously won song of the summer at the 2018 VMAs for “I Like It,” and performed his hit “Que Pretendes” at the awards show the following year.
He has been Spotify’s most-streamed artist two years in a row, and has also ventured into acting with an appearance in the new action-comedy “Bullet Train” and the lead role lined up for the 2024 Marvel movie “El Muerto.”
Sunday’s VMAs will take place at the Prudential Center, with Nicki Minaj, Lizzo, Jack Harlow, Anitta, J Balvin and Blackpink among the other performers.
