Bad Bunny Releases New Kobe Bryant Tribute Song “6 Rings”: Listen

Bad Bunny has released a new song paying tribute to the late Kobe Bryant. Listen to “6 Rings” below. In the song, which samples commentary from Bryant’s 81-point game against Toronto Raptors in 2006, he grieves for Bryant’s daughter Gianna and alludes to Bryant’s marriage and five NBA championships, as Rolling Stone notes.

Figures from across the music world have paid tribute to Bryant since his death in a helicopter crash Sunday, including Kanye and Chance the Rapper in a Sunday Service performance. In an Instagram post on Sunday, Bad Bunny wrote, “This man has been an inspiration in many ways for me to be what I am today,” RS reports.

Bad Bunny was nominated twice at last weekend’s Grammys, for X 100PRE and his J Balvin collaboration OASIS. Read Pitchfork’s “The 200 Best Albums of the 2010s,” featuring X 100PRE at No. 99.
