Wisconsin's 2023-24 Big Ten men's basketball schedule features home/away games vs. top opponents
MADISON – Wisconsin’s 2023-24 Big Ten men’s basketball schedule includes games home and away against four teams that finished in the top five of the league standings last season.
Big Ten officials on Tuesday announced the scheduled opponents for each league team.
Dates and tip times are to be announced.
UW is scheduled to face Purdue, Indiana, Michigan State, Iowa, Rutgers, Nebraska and Ohio State both home and away.
Purdue won the league title last season with a 15-5 mark, Indiana (12-8) tied for second, Michigan State (11-8) finished alone in fourth, Iowa (11-9) finished one-half game behind the Spartans and Rutgers (10-10) tied for ninth.
Nebraska (9-11) and Ohio State (5-15) combined to finish just 14-26 but the Cornhuskers rallied to defeat UW in overtime in Lincoln and the Buckeyes defeated UW in the opening round of the Big Ten tournament.
The loss to the Buckeyes ended UW’s NCAA Tournament hopes.
The Badgers’ home-only opponents are Illinois, Maryland and Northwestern.
They play Michigan, Minnesota and Penn State only on the road.
UW went 0-2 against both Illinois and Northwestern and split two games against Maryland last season en route to a 9-11 finish.
The Badgers split two games against Michigan and swept Penn State and Minnesota.
