Badgers to open the 2022-23 men's college basketball season on Nov. 7 against visiting South Dakota
MADISON – Wisconsin, which has won a share of the Big Ten men’s basketball title in two of the past three seasons, opens the 2022-23 season Nov. 7 against visiting South Dakota.
South Dakota finished fifth in the Summit League last season with an 11-7 mark. The Coyotes finished 19-12 overall.

UW, which released its nonconference schedule Friday morning, is set to face at least four other teams that finished at .500 or better last season.
The Badgers face Stanford (16-16) on Nov. 11 at American Family Field and then host UW-Green Bay (5-25) on Nov. 15.

UW then competes in the Battle 4 Atlantis, set for Nov 23-25 in the Bahamas. The Badgers open the tournament at 1:30 p.m. against Dayton (24-11).
The other teams in the tournament are Kansas, Tennessee, USC, North Carolina State, Butler and Brigham Young.
After competing in that tournament, UW hosts Wake Forest (25-10) on Nov. 29 in the ACC/Big Ten Challenge.
The Badgers face host Marquette (19-13) on Dec. 3 and then host Leigh (13-19) on Dec. 15, Grambling (12-20) on Dec. 23 and Western Michigan (8-23) on Dec. 30.
The Big Ten schedule should be announced later this month.
