Badgers wing Davis enters transfer portal

Wisconsin wing Jordan Davis entered the transfer portal Thursday after three seasons with the Badgers. Davis averaged 5.1 points and 3.5 rebounds over 35 games with Wisconsin this season.

The 6-foot-4 athlete and his twin brother Johnny joined the Badgers’ men’s basketball team in 2021 after successful high school careers in La Crosse, Wisconsin. While Johnny quickly turned into one of the best players in the nation, Jordan operated mostly as a bench option.

After starting the first 16 games of the 2022-2023 season, Jordan Davis lost his starting role to freshman guard Connor Essegian. After that, Davis  started two games the rest of the way and his minutes dropped from 24.4 per game to 17.3 in the team’s final 19 contests.

With the Badgers having a crowded roster heading into the 2023-2024 campaign (only Tyler Wahl is potentially graduating), it makes sense Davis would want a fresh start elsewhere.

Coming into college, Davis was a three-star recruit. Considering the strides he has made on the defensive end, it will likely not take long for him to find a suitor for his talents.
