Bahamonde, Feige deliver for RHAM volleyball

Oct. 14—The RHAM High girls volleyball team's Top 10 matchup against Conard Wednesday lived up to expectations.

With a number of players rising to the occasion, the Raptors picked up a quality win.

Leah Bahamonde had 44 digs and Lauren Feige 43 assists as No. 6 RHAM knocked off the fourth-ranked and previously-unbeaten Conard in a CCC interdivisional showdown in West Hartford. Game scores were 22-25, 25-23, 25-23, 15-25, 15-12.

The Raptors (12-1) have won 11 in a row since suffering their only loss of the season at Southington on Sept. 13. Conard (11-1) had swept a pair of regular-season matches from the Blue Knights but RHAM was able to turn the tables.

Freshman Neve Tyler was 20-for-20 serving and had 15 service points and nine digs. Other standouts for the Raptors included Zoe Parkinson (12 kills, 5 blocks), Ally Hadley (12 kills, 19 digs), Sarah West (15 kills, 5 blocks), and Lani Fecho (5 kills, 18 digs).

RHAM returns to CCC East action on Friday when it hosts E.O. Smith.

MANCHESTER 3, MIDDLETOWN 1. In Manchester, Olivia Ramsdell recorded nine kills and six aces as the Red Hawks picked up a CCC interdivisional win by game scores of 25-11, 25-23, 21-25, 26-24.

Olivia Westfort (9 kills, 2 blocks) also starred for Manchester (6-7). Tori Minor and Jordan LaPoint each had eight aces for Middletown (0-11).

The Red Hawks are at South Windsor for a CCC East match Friday.

EAST HARTFORD 3, WINDSOR 0. In East Hartford, Quintoria Zuniga posted 10 kills as the Hornets earned (9-4) a sweep in CCC interdivisional play by game scores of 25-23, 25-12, 25-18.

Marina Inyatkin (14 digs, 6 kills, 5 blocks, 2 aces) starred for Windsor (5-8), which hosts Bulkeley on Friday in CCC North action. East Hartford is at East Catholic the same day.

SMSA 3, BOLTON 0. In Hartford, SMSA (6-8) avenged an earlier loss to Bolton in NCCC action. Game scores were 25-21, 25-11, 27-25.

The Bulldogs (7-6), who were led by Brianna Connolly (15 assists, 8 digs) and Jaylani Falcon (2 blocks), play host to Canton on Friday.
