It was the first such visit to Ukraine since the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries in July 1992.

Zelenskyy expressed his gratitude to Bahrain for its "unwavering support of Ukraine’s territorial integrity and sovereignty while resisting full-scale Russian aggression," the presidential office reported.

Zelenskyy proposed Bahrain cooperate with Ukraine in implementing some points of the Ukrainian president’s Peace Formula, and invited Al Zayan to the upcoming Peace Summit.

Zelenskyy highlighted the problem of the children's abduction from Ukraine to Russia and the need to search for ways to return them home to their families.

During the meeting, Zelenskyy and Al Zayan discussed Bahrain’s participation in post-war reconstruction, joint humanitarian and economic projects, the demining of Ukrainian territories, and the need for equipment.

Zelenskyy paid a surprise visit to Finland on May 3, where he took part in the Nordic-Ukrainian Summit in Helsinki.

The next day, he traveled to the Netherlands, where he met with the Dutch prime minister and the king.

The president also gave speeches at the International Criminal Court in The Hague and the Dutch parliament.
