Jun. 14—A 19-year-old was charged with second-degree assault in Lewis County Superior Court on Tuesday for allegedly punching a man in the face at George Washington Park in Centralia on June 1.

The victim was reportedly walking away after an argument with a woman when the woman's son, identified as Adryan Malychi Loney, 19, of Chehalis, "ran up and punched him in the face," according to court documents.

Medical personnel later determined the victim sustained comminuted fractures to the anterior and lateral side of the maxillary sinus, comminuted fractures to the left orbital wall and comminuted left nasal bone fractures.

The nurse practitioner who treated the victim later told law enforcement "she was unable to repair the fractures in (the victim's) face due to the severity," according to court documents.

The victim was ultimately transferred to the emergency room and was instructed to follow up with a plastic surgeon.

Loney was arrested on an unrelated Centralia Municipal Court assault case on June 7 and was in custody at the Lewis County Jail at the time the felony assault charge was filed in Lewis County Superior Court on June 13.

Bail for the felony case is set at $25,000.

Loney was most-recently convicted in January 2023 on first-degree theft and fourth-degree assault charges for "jumping" a man in George Washington Park, stealing his cellphone and fleeing the scene.

Arraignment for the current case is scheduled for Thursday, June 22.
