ONTARIO − With a variety of tasty treats including fresh cookies and cupcakes, gourmet chocolates and custom cakes, the newly reopened Bake My Day is "kind of a sweet treat destination," owner Lisa Bihl said.

The bakery and candy shop opened Friday in a new location, 803 N. Lexington-Springmill Road, between AR Workshop and CheckSmart.

"Originally, Bake My Day was across the street by Barnes & Noble. Then about three years ago, it moved to Stumbo Road," Bihl said at Friday's ribbon-cutting ceremony.

Original owners Todd and Becky Sipe had opened Bake My Day 12 years ago in the back of their boutique Persnickety, the moved to 2153 Stumbo Road when Persnickety closed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

"When they moved, they also purchased F.S. Chocolatiers, which was a community favorite and a great chocolate shop," Bihl said Friday.

"I was looking at putting in for the space next door to the AR Workshop," she said. "I thought it would be a great fit to have something here. I just reached out to the previous owner of Bake My Day who actually started it. I asked them would they consider selling their bakery and they said they would. Then it all kind of started."

Bihl said Bake My Day moved into the new location about two weeks ago.

"I feel like there is so much on Springmill, that if you're not looking you might miss it," she said. "I like that it's centrally located. If you're hitting the grocery store, or if you have errands to run, it's right there."

Bihl said Bake My Day has a lot of goodies on the menu.

"Customers can come in and there are always fresh cookies and cupcakes," she said. "We have wave chocolates. Gourmet chocolates. You can also order custom cakes like wedding cakes, graduation cakes, birthday cakes and we do custom cookies. So, it's kind of a sweet treat destination."

Bihl said the custom made cookies are a specialty.

"My personal favorite is our cookies just because they're so cute to look at."

When it comes to what treat is the most popular on the menu, Bihl said it's the custom cakes.

"We'll always so backed up with custom cake orders," she said. "Because our baker and decorator do such a beautiful job at creating that vision people have and they just bring it to life."

Bake My Day is closed open Tuesday-Friday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. It is closed on Sundays and Mondays.
