A star New York chef whose cheesy garlic bread was good enough for Yankee Stadium is coming to the home ot baseball’s world champions.

Chef Christian Petroni of the Food Network shows “Chopped” and “Food Network Star” is the new chef at the Cane Rosso and Zoli’s NY Pizza restaurants, owner Jay Jerrier announced Tuesday.

Petroni’s three-cheese sesame-semolina garlic bread with 8-hour marinara sauce is inspired by his days growing up in the Bronx, he has said. It’s sold nationally on Goldbelly.com

At Cane Rosso, Zoli’s NY PIzza and spinoff Thunderbird Pies, he joins a company that has won regional and national awards for its Neapolitan-style and New York-style pizzas, but now wants to be known for a wider Italian food menu.

Petroni has worked with restaurants in New York’s Hudson Valley and Connecticut, including the Bertucci’s chain.

He has been a wnner and judge on “Chopped.”

The menu at Zoli’s will get noticeable improvements, including pastas cooked to order with his sauces, he told The Dallas Morning News.

Zoli’s is open for lunch and dinner daily at 3501 Hulen St. Cane Rosso is open for lunch and dinner daily at 815 W. Magnolia Ave., Fort Worth, and 200 N. East St., Arlington.
