Baker, Endlich, Horger and Lute are national champions at YMCA gymnastics meet
DOVER ‒ The Tuscarawas YMCA Gymnastics Team traveled to Cincinnati June 21-25 to compete in the YMCA National Gymnastics Championship meet and came home with four national champions.
First place national champions were Jaycie Baker on beam, Lily Endlich on floor and all around, Ellie Horger on vault and Presley Lute on vault. Many of the compulsory and optional teams placed in the top six. The Level 6 optional team combined their scores to take ninth place overall. They received a banner to hang in the gym.
Top local all-around gymnasts and their scores (out of a possible 40 points) were: (Level 7) Samantha Courtney with 36.3 points; ( Level 6) Mia McPeek with 36.2 points; (Level 4) Kinsley McDonald with 35.125 points; and (Level 3) Ellie Horger with 36.5 points.
Medals were awarded to the top six or seven places in each event and for all around.
Local medalists included: Samantha Courtney, second on floor and all around, third on bars, fifth on beam, sixth on vault; Jaycie Baker, first on floor; Mia McPeek, second on beam and sixth all around; Kinsley McDonald, second on beam, fourth all around and seventh on bars; Lucy Miller, third on beam; Layla Porter, fourth on beam and seventh on vault; Kendall Geers, fifth on vault; Ellie Horger, first on vault, second on beam, floor and all around; Lily Endlich, first on floor and all around, second on beam; Norelyz Duent third on vault, beam and sixth all around; Kinley Reichman, second on vault; Presley Lute first on vault; Jaylee Lute, third on vault; Arli Waller, fifth on floor; Penelope Endlich, sixth on beam.
