Bakersfield ballet dancer to premiere choreographed ballet in New York City

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — A Bakersfield ballerina is making history for the second time.
Tiler Peck grew up dancing in her mother’s dance studio in Bakersfield. She is now a principal dancer at New York City Ballet, and on Thursday night, she is set to make her debut as the ballet’s 100th commissioned choreographer with 19 dancers performing her piece: “Concerto for Two Pianos.”
February marks ‘Safely Surrendered Baby Awareness Month’ in Kern County
Costumes for the show were created by famous designer Zac Posen.
Tiler has previously choreographed pieces for the Boston Ballet, the Vail Dance Festival, and her self-curated “Turn It Out with Tiler Peck and Friends” at the New York City Center.
