Bakery on Clay holds grand opening

Jul. 29—A grand opening for Bakery on Clay, 1602 Clay Ave., was held Thursday in the borough.

The bakery, located next to Henry's on Clay, will be open 7:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesday through Sunday.

Co-owners Ellen and Lizzie Sallusti opened Henry's on Clay in December 2018 and decided to expand their business after experiencing some success with sweets.

Head baker Steph Yuhas began making cakes in January 2020 and her creations were a huge hit with customers.

"She had a goal to make a cake a day and ended up doubling up on them because they would fly off the shelf," Ellen Sallusti said.

Yuhas noted the business plans to expand its offerings in the coming months, including bread.
