New Balance Unleashes the KAWHI III "Alpha Predator"

What it do, babyyy. It’s been a little while since we’ve gotten a brand new Kawhi Leonard sneaker release, but the wait is over. Today, New Balance Athlete and LA Clippers superstar Kawhi Leonard is officially unveiling the newest KAWHI signature shoe: The KAWHI III. While the shoe will be available to the masses on February 10th, if you happened to catch the game tonight, then you already know that Kawhi gave us a live look at the “Alpha Predator” colorway, which looks sick.

Made for athletes at the peak of their power, a trio of insights from Kawhi guided New Balance designers in the development of The KAWHI III: responsive, explosive, and lightweight. The KAWHI III was built to bring the creativity of Kawhi to life.

The shoes feature a streamlined look, lightweight upper, and full-length FuelCell cushioning, with the “Alpha Predator” taking inspo from Kawhi’s dominance on the court similar to the apex predator who sits at the top of the food chain allowing him to the attack without fear of anyone getting in his way. The KAWHI continues to use the benefits of a full-length FuelCell cushioning system combined with Energy Arc, that pairs a sport-specific carbon fiber plate geometry with strategic midsole voids, designed to increase stored energy to deliver a higher amount of total energy return, and continues to sport a minimalist design.

Additional features include: rich synthetic material construction, featuring a seamless half-bootie that connects directly to the tongue, a heel with a molded adapt component that provides a more locked-in and stable fit, and Energy Arc technology, which makes this the first time this technology has appeared in basketball.

KAWHI III Release Date:

The KAWHI III Alpha Predator will be available at www.NewBalance.com starting February 10th with the suggested retail price of $160. Additional colorways will be launched throughout the season that tap into the mind of Kawhi such as Recharged Chakra, Multi-Dimensional, Sacred Geometry and even one that pulls from New Balance’s iconic color.
