Baldus named Herald editor

Sep. 21—Chris Baldus has been named editor of the Clinton Herald.

Baldus is an award-winning journalist who most recently served as editor of the Oelwein Daily Register.

During his career, he has served as an editor and reporter at numerous locations including the Austin Daily Herald, La Crosse Tribune, Charles City Press and Quad-City Times, among other newspapers in Iowa, Idaho and Minnesota.

Publisher Ron Gutierrez said, "We are ecstatic to have Chris Baldus join our team at the Clinton Herald. The Herald has a rich history of delivering community news and information. Chris has extensive experience leading local news organizations from his experience in Iowa, Minnesota and Idaho. We look forward to his leadership in the Clinton."

Baldus holds a bachelor's degree in mass communications with a minor in English.

His work as an editor, designer, photographer and reporter has been recognized by the Minnesota Newspaper Association, Idaho Newspaper Association and Iowa Newspaper Association over the years.
