“Corrections Officers and Medical staff quickly responded to Prince and began performing life saving measures until EMS arrived,” the release said.

“EMS arrived shortly after to assess the inmate. Ultimately, after performing additional life-saving measures, Brandon Prince did not survive.”

Prince, who had been in jail since Dec. 26, 2023, was alone in his cell when corrections officers found his body, and there were no signs of foul play, according to the BCSO.

The BCSO asked the Baldwin County Major Crimes Unit to independently review this incident using non-agency investigators, according to the release.

This is the BCSO’s standard response procedure for an “in-custody” death.
