Baltimore County Public Schools hires another safety manager

Baltimore County Public Schools hired another safety manager to help head off any potential violence. The district is one of a number of Maryland school systems that have noticed an increase in disciplinary problems. District officials said the new hire is evidence of its ongoing commitment to put safety first. Donald Bridges is trading in his police uniform for a business suit, but that's about all that's changing for the law-enforcement veteran. In making the shift to safety manager, Bridges is bringing with him more than 20 years of experience as a Baltimore County school resource officer. He also served as president of the National Association of School Resource Officers.
