Baltimore eighth-grader gifted special viola from Marin Alsop

In this season of giving, one of the world's greatest conductors who has deep roots with the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra returned to the Meyerhoff Symphony Hall with a gift in tow -- one that was two years in the making. Famed conductor Marin Alsop believes every child is born a genius who is filled with possibility. Eighth-grader Jayden Moore is a rising star in Alsop's OrchKids music program. He received a brand-new, handcrafted viola that was gingerly ferried from Belgium to Baltimore.
