Baltimore program aims to diversify ranks of licensed pilots

Baltimore's Empowerment Through Aviation program is trying to diversify the ranks of licensed pilots. Women make up roughly only 5% of the nation's airline pilots, of which only about 3% are African American. Students can become interested in aviation as early as middle school, and from there, the sky really is the limit. Tucked away in a small room on the first floor at Baltimore Polytechnic Institute, there's a new flight simulator that got its first test run Wednesday by a student from the JROTC unit.
