Broadway comes to Knox: Choral revues of Mamma Mia! And Les Miserables

What: Get ready to dance in the aisles with Enharmonic Fire as they perform highlights from Mamma Mia: I Have a Dream, Mamma Mia, S.O.S., Take a Chance on Me, Thank You for the Music and Dancing Queen. Also on the program, TriTones presents selections from Les Misérables. Set against the backdrop of 19th-century France, Les Misérables tells a story of broken dreams and unrequited love, passion, sacrifice and redemption. The magnificent score of Les Misérables includes the songs I Dreamed a Dream, On My Own, Bring Him Home and One Day More. Join Tritones and Enharmonic Fire under the direction of Tom Clark.

Thursday Night Jazz

What: Thursday nights are Jazz Nights at the Community Arts Center. Come hear the Knox Cherry Street Combo for the last Thursday of this school year. All ages are welcome. We have a full bar, and you can order food from any local restaurant.

May Nature at Night: Camping Basics

What: Brush up on tent building skills, learn about the basic necessities for your camping adventure from our nature staff, and enjoy s’mores around the fire.

Cedar Creek Summer Fest

What: The Summer Fest weekend is filled with food, live music and shopping. Friday night kicks off with an array of food trucks and vendors offering food and beverages, plus a live band playing your favorite tunes. Saturday will be packed with live bands, food vendors and trucks, plus shopping at the vendor show.

When: 5 to 10 p.m. Friday and 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Saturday

Galesburg Farmers Market

What: The Galesburg Farmers' Market is your one-stop-shop for all the local goods you need, from fresh fruits and veggies, meats and eggs, honey, baked goods and prepared foods, handmade crafts and jewelry and more.

Blackthorn Hill Nature Preserve Storyteller Brian Ellis as James Audubon

What: Storyteller Brian 'Fox' Ellis portrays James Audubon in monologues drawn from Audubon's journals, essays and letters to friends and colleagues. There will be a short introduction and the hike will begin at the trailhead. Refreshments will be served afterwards at the activity shelter.

When: 10 a.m. to noon Saturday

Cat Cafe at the Galesburg Public Library

What: Meet the cats of Western Illinois Animal Rescue at the library's cat café. Visit with kitties and relax with a hot drink. WIAR is a no-kill shelter in Monmouth. Donations of Purina One Cat food, used sheets, blankets, towels, cat litter and cleaning products welcome.

What: Kick off this summer right with Bands, Brews, and BBQ at Cactus Country Memorial Day weekend. Come early and claim your spot on the lawn with your lawn chairs. Johnson's Smokehouse BBQ will be serving up food. Enjoy the tunes of Contingency at 4 p.m. and Vital Signs at 6:30 p.m. Inlaws -n- Outlaws will take the stage at 9 p.m.
