Bank president named to technology center board

Nov. 16—The Moore-Norman Technology Center board on Tuesday unanimously approved Andy Sherrer to replace Jared Deck on the panel after Deck won election to the state Legislature.

Sherrer is regional president of First United Bank.

"I'm just honored to be part of Moore-Norman Technology Center's board," he told The Transcript. "I just think very highly of what the center offers in the way of classes and short-term programs for high school students, adults and local businesses."

The board confirmed Sherrer at a special meeting because Deck had not yet won election to House District 44 when the panel previously met Nov. 8, said Stephanie Royse, executive director of strategic communications and engagement for the technology center.
