Banner urging Putin to ‘handle Ukraine and Brussels’ unfurled at Polish farmers' protest

At a Polish farmers’ protest Ukrainian grain imports on Feb. 20, one participant drove up in a tractor with a banner asking Russian dictator Vladimir Putin to “handle” Ukraine, Brussels, and Poland’s own government. Polish police are now investigating the incident.

“Putin, handle Ukraine, Brussels, and our government,” the spray-painted message said.

Journalists covering the farmers' protests in Poland noticed the slogan and a Soviet Union flag on the tractor. Russian propaganda widely used the photo of the flag and banner.

The farmer has been accused of inciting hatred, according to Polish authorities, prompting an official investigation.

Polish Interior Ministry reported that the controversial banner was quickly taken down by police.

According to Polish newspaper Wyborcza, the individual faces allegations related to totalitarian regime propaganda.
