Dunkin’ raises $9,000 for Investigator Theetge

CHEMUNG COUNTY, N.Y. (WETM) – Bapa Network has raised $9,000 for Chemung County Investigator Michael Theetge.

On April 12, Dunkin’ Donuts locations across Chemung County held a fundraiser for Investigator Theetge. Each location sold donuts with a special black and blue frosting design on top.

On April 17, Bapa Network presented the Chemung County Sheriff’s Department with a check for $9,000. All of the proceeds from the fundraiser are going to Investigator Theetge and his family.

“He has a long road to recovery,” the Bapa Network said in a Facebook post. “We want Michael and his family to know that we are all thinking of him during this time, and he has a lot of supporters.”

Theetge suffered a serious head injury while he was pursuing a shoplifting suspect in Big Flats on March 29. After he was injured, Theetge was taken to Guthrie Corning Hospital before being airlifted to Robert Packer Hospital in Sayre. He was transferred to a rehab center in Rochester on April 10.
