Bape x League of Legends Blends Together the Best in Streetwear & Gaming Style

Celebrating the best of the best in gaming in style, Aape by A Bathing Ape debuted a collection inspired by the League of Legends.

Also known as Bape, the brand married the best of street style and gaming fashion in a capsule filled with apparel, footwear and more to honor the legendary game and its upcoming world championships. The Bape x League of Legends collection drops on Sept. 25 in the United States at Aapeus.com with a drop the following day, on Sept. 26, across Asia. Select pieces will also be released at select retailers and location across the globe.

The collection includes two different aspects. The first pays homage to the True Damage Yasuo Prestige Edition Skin with gold and black embroideries across an outerwear jacket, a T-shirt, cargo pants, a belt bag and sneakers. The footwear selection comes in the form of a mid-top pair with all-black uppers contrasted by metallic overlays. The style comes set atop a blown-out midsole with tread-like exteriors and coordinating gold paneling. The Bape x League of Legends sneaker will retail for $209 with the drop.

The second part of the collection may look familiar for anyone who has seen the DJ dress of Yasuo in the music video of “True Damage,” with elements from the street style influences and hip-hop elements of the song. This concept provides T-shirts, hoodies, sweaters and hats for the capsule.

The League of Legends World Championship takes place in Shanghai and brings together the best in the industry. Teams compete to win the ultimate champion title as well as the Summoners Cup and the chance at a multi-million dollar prize. In previous years, almost 100 million people watched the event from across the world, causing the tournament to reportedly have inspired parts of Los Angeles’ bid for the 2024 Olympics.

As for Bape, the brand has worked with a whole slew of the biggest names in the footwear and fashion industries. Previous collections include drops with Louis Vuitton, Adidas, Ugg, Tommy Hilfiger, Puma and Undefeated, to name a few.
