Baptist Medical Center South begins upgrades at Old St. Augustine Road hospital
Baptist Medical Center South will undergo a buildout of its existing operating room, according to a recently approved building permit for the Jacksonville hospital.
The additional work will cover 1,000 square feet and cost $950,000. It will focus on a structural steel revision to the operating room at the hospital at 14550 Old St. Augustine Road.

It’s the second significant addition to the facility in the past year. In October the hospital underwent a major overhaul that cost about $5 million. That work included renovations that covered more than 16,000 square feet.
The latest work will be handled by contractor Batson-Cook Co.
$14 million warehouse approved
Imeson Road will see a new warehouse in the industrial and commercial development area on Jacksonville’s Northside.
Patillo Industrial Real Estate is the owner of the new facility. The permits to build the warehouse were approved this month by the Jacksonville Building Inspection Division.
It will be a reinforced concrete shell building at 6040 Imeson Road and cost about $14 million. Dana B. Kenyon Co. is the contractor.
