The penultimate episode of Baptiste unloaded some shocking twists tonight (March 17) as several characters met their maker.

(Obviously, there's some spoilers ahead...)

Although Edward's ex-wife Clare and her new hubby Carl were killed off in rather gruesome style, it was gangster Constantin's demise which caused the biggest stir from online fans.

Judging by the completely polarised responses from viewers posting on social media, Constantin (who's played by Alec Secareanu) was simultaneously a surprising slice of eye candy whilst also being a rather deserving victim of the grim reaper.

Following on from tonight's bloodfest, Baptiste creators/writers Harry and Jack Williams sat down with Digital Spy to discuss Constantin's somewhat ambiguous death.

When asked if he was murdered by Brigada Serbilu, or whether there could be more to the situation, Jack teased: "With every murder in this show, there's always that possibility!

"His death is explained in episode six in quite a satisfying way, and is quite important to where the story goes. So yeah, that uncertainty is helpful, but it's resolved in episode six."

Meanwhile, leading man Tchéky Karyo recently hinted that there could be more Baptiste stories told in the future.

Baptiste concludes next Sunday (March 24) on BBC One at 9pm.
