Happy birthday, Michelle Obama!

The former first lady turns 56 on Jan. 17 -- and her husband's birthday message to her is definitely setting the bar for #couplegoals.

On Friday, Obama wished his wife of 27 years a happy birthday in the most modern way possible: on Instagram.

The 44th president shared a collage of photos taken of the couple at a photo booth, as they hug, kiss and throw up peace signs.

"In every scene, you are my star, @MichelleObama!" the 44th president wrote. "Happy birthday, baby!"

The father-of-two regularly takes to social media for anniversaries and birthdays with romantic messages. To celebrate his 27th anniversary in October, Obama posted a photo of the couple gazing into a sunset.

"Like the Beatles said: It’s getting better all the time," Obama wrote. "Thanks, babe, for 27 amazing years!"

Michelle also shared a swoon-worthy photo to mark their anniversary, this time sharing a photo taken of the couple on the beach during sunset.

"27 years ago, this guy promised me a life full of adventure," she wrote.

"I’d say he’s delivered. Here’s to our next chapter of becoming empty nesters and discovering what’s next—while still feeling the magic that brought us together all those years ago. Happy anniversary, Barack. 💕"

The couple met in Chicago while working for the law firm Sidley & Austin. Michelle was assigned to mentor Barack, who had just finished his first year at Harvard Law School. Michelle refused his advances a few times but finally relented after he offered to quit his job.

And the rest is history!
