Barbecue, beer and low country boil: Fayetteville-area food events happening this October

The end of September gives way to a busy October in Fayetteville. Here are a few events, all of which have food, to keep an eye out for.

Oct. 6: First Friday on Main

First Friday on Main, located along Main Street in Spring Lake between Spring Ave. and Johnson St., hosts vendors, food trucks and live music from 6 to 9 p.m. Oct. 6. The event is hosted by the Greater Sandhills Chamber.

Oct. 7: R&B at Festival Park

R&B at Festival Park brings food trucks, beer and wine, vendors, artists and musical talent to 335 Ray Ave. from 1 to 9 p.m. Oct. 7. General admission tickets start at $30 and VIP tickets, which include food, and access to a full bar and exclusive seating near the stage, start at $75.

Organizer Ayana Washington said the event highlights Black-owned businesses and talent. Among the musical guests performing are Dez Humphrey, Melrose Johnson, DJ Yodo and DJ G Moniy.

Food trucks include Vibes Luxury Hookah & Chilled Vibes Italian Ice, Floyd’s Famous Glizzys, Da' Shark Shack LLC and The Vegan Spot, Washington said.

Oct. 14: Music, Brews & BBQ Festival

Music, Brews & BBQ Festival, noon to 9 p.m. on Oct. 14, hosts a cook-off, food trucks, vendors, a car show and music at Festival Park, 335 Ray Ave. Dozens of beers will be served.

Oct. 26: The Greater Carolina Rock n’ Boil

The Greater Carolina Rock n’ Boil, hosted by the Greater Fayetteville Chamber from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Oct. 26, brings an all-you-can-eat oyster roast, barbecue, a low country boil and live music to Dirtbag Ales, 5435 Corporation Drive in Hope Mills.
