Barber shop started by three friends

Oct. 24—Three friends got together and opened a barbershop named "The Embassy" in downtown Clovis at 316 N. Main St.

Ashley Barnett, Gavyn Benoit and Alex Trujillo, all from Clovis, met while working at a barber shop in town.

"We wanted our shop to be part of the community. That's why we located to Main Street," Barnett said.

As for the name, Barnett said Benoit came up with that.

"Gavyn said the name, The Embassy, represents a space where everyone is safe and welcome," Barnett said.

Benoit said the shop also offers hats for sale.

The shop is open Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Saturday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
