Barbie or Oppenheimer for $4? Go to Danbarry Cinema on Aug. 27 for National Cinema Day special

CHILLICOTHE – Danbarry Cinemas is excited to partner with the Cinema Foundation to celebrate the second annual National Cinema Day this Sunday, Aug. 27.

Danbarry Cinemas in Chillicothe, TriCity Theatre in Jackson, and Silver Screen VII in Gallipolis will all be participating in the one-day event, which celebrates the power of movies to bring us all together, and discounted admissions for all movies in all formats will be no more than $4.

These three local theaters will also be offering free refills on all popcorn and fountain drinks, as well as other special promotions to be announced.

To celebrate National Cinema Day on Aug. 27, moviegoers will be able to enjoy dozens of movies including new films opening this weekend like "Gran Turismo: Based on a True Story," "The Hill," and "Retribution," as well as current box office hits like "Barbie," "Oppenheimer," "Meg 2: The Trench" and "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem."

Danbarry Cinemas a 10-screen theater situated behind the Zane Plaza off of Bridge Street, re-opened under new ownership in November 2021 featuring laser projection systems and all-new Dolby surround sound systems.
