Barcelona Demonstration Turns Violent After Spanish Rapper Jailed

Demonstrators took to the streets to demand the release of Pablo Hasel in Barcelona, Spain, on February 16, after the rapper was sentenced to jail for glorifying terrorism and insulting Spain’s former king in his music.

Hasel was arrested on Tuesday after refusing to turn himself in by the previous Friday. The rapper barricaded himself inside the University of Lleida in an attempt to avoid the nine-month jail term, Spanish media reported.
