Barleycorn’s Brewhouse opens in former Northern Kentucky fire station

A new brewery is now open in Wilder, Kentucky.

Barleycorn's Brewhouse opened in the Northern Kentucky city's former fire station, located at 402 Licking Pike, this week. One Holland Restaurant Group owns the brewery, as well as three Barleycorn's sports bars in Cold Spring, Florence and Lakeside Park. Barleycorn's Brewhouse is the brand's first brewery.

According to a press release, the space will house a five-barrel brewhouse with additional 30-barrel fermentation capacity, allowing for 700 barrels of beer to be brewed annually starting next year.

The Wilder brewery also includes indoor and outdoor seating, a dog-friendly patio and relief area and a restaurant, which will offer new items as well as some Barleycorn's sports bar favorites.

The Taylor Mill-based restaurant group is also currently constructing the 1842 Brewery in Independence, Kentucky, scheduled to open in 2024.

“We are always grateful when our local community supports NKU, but we are especially proud of the success our alumni have and the contributions they make to our community and reinvest in the region and their alma mater,” Eric Gentry, vice president of university advancement, said in the release.

Barleycorn's Brewhouse is open Tuesday through Sunday from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. For more information, visit barleycornsbrewhouse.com.
