Barrett-Jackson Palm Beach 2023: What to know before you go to popular car auction in West Palm

Widely regarded as a barometer of the collector car industry, the Barrett-Jackson auction has evolved over the years into a world-class automotive lifestyle event, where thousands of the world’s most sought-after, unique and valuable automobiles cross the block in front of a global audience, in person and on live national and international television.

South Florida car lovers can rejoice in the fact that in addition to Scottsdale, Arizona, Las Vegas and Houston, one show is held near West Palm Beach.

This year the Barrett-Jackson Palm Beach auction celebrates its 20th anniversary as it returns to the South Florida Fairgrounds from Thursday, April 13, through Saturday, April 15.

“As one of our longest running events, the Palm Beach Auction has become a pinnacle event forenthusiasts to find an incredible selection of collectible vehicles in one of the country’s most populardestinations,” said Craig Jackson, chairman and CEO of Barrett-Jackson in a news release.

Among several of the top vehicles crossing the auction block at the Palm Beach auction is a 2020 Ford GT and a 2005 Ford GT, both from The Steve Todhunter Collection. As well as an impressive selection of custom one-off vehicles like the custom 1966 Chevrolet Chevy II Nova SS nicknamed “Novakill” and impeccably built Resto-Mods, the show features examples from the highly desirable SUV market, such as a custom 1969 Ford Bronco powered by a Gen 3 Ford 5.0-liter Coyote crate engine.

And this year, Barrett-Jackson is auctioning the first retail production of the Chevrolet Corvette E-Ray 3LZ VIN 001. It's Chevrolet's first electric, all-wheel drive Corvette.

One-hundred percent of the hammer price of this vehicle will benefit DonorsChoose. The nonprofit allows public school teachers to create classroom project requests, and donors may give any amount to the project that inspires them. DonorsChoose has been supporting teachers and students since 2000, helping fund more than 2.55 million projects and raising more than $1.43 billion nationwide.

In addition to the auction and cars on display, this great family-friendly event will feature interactive sponsor and vendor exhibits, hot laps and thrill rides in the latest performance vehicles from Chevrolet, Ford, Dodge and Toyota, as well as live music.

How much money do you have to have to bid at Barrett-Jackson?

According to the auction's website: The bid limit deposit requires a deposit of $9,000 cashier's check to obtain a minimum bid limit of $90,000. Personal/business checks, cash, or credit cards will not be accepted for bid limit deposits.
