SYRACUSE, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) — Dave Portnoy, founder of Barstool Sports, has made shirts in honor of fallen law enforcement officer Lieutenant Michael Hoosock.

Who were the fallen heroes? Community mourns Syracuse Police Officer and Onondaga Sheriff’s Lieutenant Deputy

For the entire day of April 16, Portnoy will match 100% of the profits Barstool makes on the shirts.

He took to X to let his followers know about the sale, and explain why he’s doing it.

Two police officers doing their job, gunned down, awful,” said Portnoy in the video. “A horrible reminder, first responders put their lives on the line everyday they leave the door.”

“Both are absolute tragedies,” said Portnoy. “I have picked our lane, which is trying to pick the family that is left behind. Officer Jensen was younger, didn’t have a family. Again, no less of a tragedy, no less of a hero.”

However, there are ways to support Officer Jensen as well.

The unions representing the two officers have endorsed a fundraiser meant to collect money for their families.

The Fund The First organization is managing the collection for Onondaga County Sheriff’s Lieutenant Michael Hoosock and Syracuse Police Officer Michael Jensen.
