Bartlesville High School’s girls soccer team is off to a 5-2 start to gather momentum for the upcoming district battles.

The Lady Bruins shut out Rogers Heritage (Ark.), 3-0, on Tuesday as part of a Custer Stadium doubleheader that also featured the boys’ team.

Eva Sigler notched one of Bartlesville’s goals.

Lily Weimer and Sawyer Kirkland each played one half in goal for Bartlesville.

“I think we created more scoring opportunities,” first-year Lady Bruin head coach Cedric Muteshi said about one of the positives. “I’m happy about that. This team has a sense of belief.”

He also praised the hard work to record a clean sheet (shutout).

“It’s always nice to avoid getting scored upon,” he said.

The Lady Bruins are back home Thursday at 6 p.m. to play Bixby.

Tuesday’s boys game finished with Bartlesville winning, 4-0.
