Bartlesville High's girls' golf team continues to shave strokes in April

Bartlesville High School’s girls’ golf team has displayed plenty of consistency and improvement as the season inches closer to the regionals.

Following are summaries of some of the Lady Bruins’ latest outings.

On Tuesday, Bartlesville nailed seventh place, with a season-best 355 score, at the Tulsa Union Invitational at LaFortune Park.

Emilyn Rainbolt dialed up a score of 83, followed by Taylor Price at 86 and Layne Harmon at 90. Vivian Symes shot 96 and Evie Vaclaw notched an even 100.

Emily Stapp recorded a 108 score as an individual.

“The weather was gorgeous,” said Lady Bruin head coach Carl Holmes. “It was a good day overall. Team-wise, I was overall pleased.”

In their previous match, the Lady Bruins earned second place at the Sapulpa tournament, led by three medalists — Rainbolt, 83 (2nd); Price, 87 (6th); and Symes 94 (10th).

Harmon and Vaclaw tallied 95 and 100, respectively.

On April 3, Price sizzled with 78 to finish seventh at the Owasso Invitational. Rainbolt followed with 86 and Harmon registered 90.

Vaclaw amassed 103 and Maklayan Farris shot 109.

In their match prior to that, Bartlesville competed at Jenks. Price manicured the course with 86 to lead Bartlesville, followed by Harmon with 88 and Rainbolt with 92. Symes added 93, followed by Vaclaw with 105.

Two Bartlesville individuals in the field included Adrian Flick (113) and Stapp (113).

Next up, Bartlesville plays host on April 19 to its own meet, hosted by Adams Golf Course.
