Voters approved the $38 million bond issue to fund renovations, expansions and other improvements at Bartlesville Public Schools Tuesday.

Bartlesville voters gave a resounding yes to the bond vote held on Valentine's Day, with almost 80% voting to approve the issue.

"We are grateful to the voters who went to the polls and overwhelmingly supported the bond issue questions," said Granger Meador of Bartlesville Public Schools.

The Bartlesville school district has been experiencing growth over the last few years, and Wayside Elementary School has seen a 25% in enrollment over the last decade, according to the district.

"The funds will allow us to expand the Wayside and Ranch Heights elementary schools to accommodate increasing enrollment while also helping to fund the district's technology, curricular, maintenance, transportation and extracurricular programs through 2026-2027, all without increasing the current millage rate," said Meador.

Bartlesville Superintendent Chuck McCauley hopes to begin the projects in June so some of the improvements can be implemented before the start of the 2023-2024 school year.

More information about the bond can be found on the Bartlesville school website.
