Baseball: Colorado teams top Astoria

Mar. 30—The Denver Christian Thunder scored one run in the sixth inning and another in the seventh on Tuesday afternoon, which was good enough for a 2-0 win over Astoria on day two of the Coach Bob Baseball Invitational in Phoenix, Arizona.

The Fishermen had six hits compared to four for Denver Christian, but Astoria also committed five errors.

Merrick Benesch had two of Astoria's hits, while pitchers Niko Boudreau and Connelly Fromwiller combined on the four-hitter, with seven strikeouts and four walks.

The Fishermen wrapped up their stay in Arizona on Wednesday, with a 19-6 loss to Manitou Springs, of Colorado.
