Join Ivy Tech as it brings together Black-owned businesses from the community to showcase and sell their products.

W.C. Handy Blues & Barbecue Festival

The W.C. Handy Blues & Barbecue Festival is a celebration of the life and legacy of Henderson resident and "Father of the Blues," W.C. Handy. Events throughout the week include the Mardi Gras-style Street Strut and the Street Strut 5K Run, Family Food Truck Night, Handy Lunch Breaks, and Happy Hours at local restaurants, and shows every night. The Soul Writers Guild

The Soul Writers Guild is hosting "Freedom to Think, Read and Write," a Juneteenth Celebration featuring young community artists specializing in spoken word, poetry, and dance.

Music in the Park

6 to 8 p.m., Bayard Park in Evansville. Free..

Bring your picnic blankets or lawn chairs and enjoy live music by 2 Miles Back. Food trucks also will be on-site to satisfy your cravings.

Friday

'For The People' Community Block Party

June 16 and 17, 11 a.m. to 8 p.m., at Waggoner Avenue and Culver Drive. Free.

A collaboration with community partners to bring family fun, food, live music, and fireworks to the neighborhood.

Juneteenth Community Block Party

Friday 1 p.m. to 8 p.m., Saturday 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., and Sunday noon to 5 p.m., 1673 Culver Ave. Free.

This community block party features three days of Black culture, food and vendors. Each day will feature a Black flea market and BBQ with food trucks, vendors, games, music and more. Sunday will feature a worship service with Greater Hope Church from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

HCAD Music Festival and LGBTQ Resource Fair

5 to 8 p.m., Haynie's Corner. Free.

Enjoy vendors, live music and find resources geared towards LGBTQIA+ needs

Evansville Otters baseball

6:35 p.m., Bosse Field, 23 Don Mattingly Way in Evansville. Tickets range from $6 to $12.

Cheer on the Evansville Otters as they take on the Gateway Grizzlies, and enjoy a postgame fireworks show.

Jackson Browne

7:30 p.m., Victory Theatre, 600 Main St, Tickets range from $56 to $126.

Rock icon Jackson Brown is stopping in Evansville where he is highlighting his recent album "Downhill From Everywhere," which was inspired and fueled by a search for connection, purpose and self.

Chicago

8 p.m., Old National Events Plaza, 715 Locust St, Tickets range from $38 to $140.

Rock band Chicago is stopping in Evansville as they celebrate 55 years of touring with three original members.

Saturday

Franklin Street Bazaar

9 a.m. to 1 p.m., along West Franklin Street. Free.

Every Saturday on the lawn of the West Branch Library, hundreds of vendors from local farmers and producers to bakers to artists and craftsmen have pop-up shops for visitors to discover local products.

Free Day! Juneteenth

10 a.m. to 5 p.m., 8215 Pollack Ave. Free.

Angel Mounds is hosting a free admission day in honor of Juneteenth with live performances and hands-on activities.

All Together Now

10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Newburgh Town Hall, Free

The Newburgh Chandler Public Library has partnered with several community groups to bring "All Together Now," a family-friendly event promoting equality and freedom that features local organizations, food trucks, a musical performance by Monte Skelton at 10 a.m. and guest speaker Alonzo Moore at 1 p.m.

Lyles Station Juneteenth Celebration

11 a.m. to 3 p.m., 953 N. 500 West, Princeton, Free.

Second Baptist Church Senior Pastor William Smith will be this year's guest speaker on the significance of the holiday and its importance in American history. In addition to Smith, live entertainment will be provided by the Simmons Family, New Life Church of the Nazarene, and Claudette Greer Cook. Barbeque dinners will be sold at Tim's Awesome BBQ.

Pride in the Park

Noon to midnight, Garvin Park in Evansville. Free.

The Hudson & Reed Foundation is hosting its third annual Pride in the Park with food trucks, vendors, nonprofits, a beer truck provided by Someplace Else Nightclub, and surprise entertainment.

On the Roof Concert Series

6:30 p.m., 212 Main St. Free. 

The Arts Council's Rooftop Concert Series kicks off its season with the Randys and Toby Ellis & the Breakdown

Evansville Otters' Negro Leagues Tribute Game

6:35 p.m., Bosse Field, Tickets range from $6 to $12

The Juneteenth game is sponsored by the Evansville African-American Museum as a salute to the Negro Leagues. There will be local vendors, bounce houses, and replica Negro League baseball jerseys.

Lyle Lovett & His Large Band

Lyle Lovett will be stopping in Evansville to perform at the Victory Theatre on June 17, 2023

Henderson Juneteenth Celebration

4 to 7 p.m., Downtown Henderson Central Park. Free.

This family-friendly event is the second annual celebration of freedom and Black culture that will be packed with food, live entertainment, kid's activities and Black vendors and artists.
